Bidding Opportunities

The MD of Opportunity works with a variety of contractors featuring an assortment of skills and competencies, and strives to evaluate all contractors’ bids fairly. We are committed to creating and maintaining a high level of confidence in the procurement of goods and services by ensuring integrity, transparency, accountability, efficiency, and consistency in our procurement process, and recognize the vast potential impact that procurement has on the environment, and act within the authority of the Municipal Government Act, the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT), the Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA), and the MD’s Procurement Policy.

Evaluation Criteria

The MD reserves the right to not accept the lowest bid, believing that all factors need to be fully considered in determining the best value. Completion of the Submission Form and the Evaluation Criteria Form is required and does not imply any commitment or right to work for the MD.

Active Tenders

Wabasca Lagoon Gate

The Municipal District of Opportunity (MD) requests written proposals from qualified vendors to supply and install chain link fencing and an electronic gate on the access road to the Wabasca Lagoon (NW35 81-25-4).

Closing Date: July 7, 2026

Scope of Work:

  • Supply and install 50 m of chain link fencing and an electronic gate.
  • The gate shall be 6 m wide.
  • The gate shall open with a pin pad system and fob system.
  • The gate shall be programable to automatically shut after entry.
  • The gate shall be rated to be reliable in typical Northern Alberta winter conditions.
  • Supply and install power service from the meter to the gate. The Owner will coordinate installation of the new power service.

The contract duration would be from July 15th 2026 to September 30th 2026.
