Bidding Opportunities

The MD of Opportunity works with a variety of contractors featuring an assortment of skills and competencies, and strives to evaluate all contractors’ bids fairly. We are committed to creating and maintaining a high level of confidence in the procurement of goods and services by ensuring integrity, transparency, accountability, efficiency, and consistency in our procurement process, and recognize the vast potential impact that procurement has on the environment, and act within the authority of the Municipal Government Act, the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT), the Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA), and the MD’s Procurement Policy.

Evaluation Criteria

The MD reserves the right to not accept the lowest bid, believing that all factors need to be fully considered in determining the best value. Completion of the Submission Form and the Evaluation Criteria Form is required and does not imply any commitment or right to work for the MD.

Confidentiality

Active Tenders

Chain Link Fence Installation (Phase One) – Fox Drive, Sandy Lake

The Municipal District of Opportunity No. 17 (the “MD”) invites quotations from qualified contractors to provide all labour, supervision, equipment, machinery, transportation, tools, concrete, excavation, and installation services required to install approximately 226 metres (741.5 feet) of chain link fencing along the proposed fence line at Fox Drive, Sandy Lake (the “Work”).

The MD will supply the chain link fencing materials and have them available on site. The Contractor is responsible for the complete installation of the supplied materials, including excavation, concrete work, and all incidental work required for a complete and properly installed fence, as described in Section 4. Gate supply and installation are excluded from this RFQ and will be completed separately as Phase Two.

Instructions to Bidders

3.1 Submission Requirements

• Submit quotations by email to angela.lightning@mdopportunity.ab.ca.

• Use the subject line: “RFQ-SLFOX-FENCE-2026 – Chain Link Fence Installation – [Company Name]”.

• Each submission must include the completed and signed Quotation Form (Appendix A) and a current WCB Alberta clearance letter.

• Quotations received after the closing date and time will not be accepted. The time stamp on the MD’s email server governs.

3.2 Questions and Addenda

• Direct all questions in writing to the RFQ Contact by the question deadline. Do not contact other MD staff or Council about this RFQ.

• Answers of general interest will be issued to all bidders by written addendum. Only written addenda are binding; verbal information is not.

• Bidders must acknowledge all addenda on the Quotation Form

Wabasca Forcemain Mulching – Request for Proposal 17-2026

Sealed quotations marked “MD of Opportunity – Request for Proposal 17-2026 – Wabasca Forcemain Mulching” will be received via email to tenders@mdopportunity.ab.ca or received in a sealed envelope at the MD of Opportunity’s Wabasca Office, #2077 Mistassiniy Road North Wabasca, Alberta up to 11:00 AM LOCAL TIME, Tuesday October 6, 2026.

The Municipal District of Opportunity (MD) requests written proposals from qualified vendors to provide service for mulching along the right of way for the sanitary forcemain from the Main Lift Station to the Lagoon in Wabasca. The clearing by mulching area is approximately 10 Ha along the forcemain right of way at a width of 10 m.
