Trout Lake
The alluring and remote community of Trout Lake is situated around Graham Lake, which is densely forested, teeming with wildlife, and culturally rich with year-round recreational and water activities, and traditional teachings.
Located 90 kms from Red Earth Creek, Trout Lake was once referred to as “Old Post” because the Hudson Bay Store had operated in the area. With a population of approximately 370 self-sufficient and spiritual souls, Trout Lake is a community where traditional trapping, fishing, horseback riding, sleigh riding, hunting and outdoor living are still quite common. Aboriginal crafts, including beadwork, moccasins, jackets, and gloves, are made by local women, and the art of tanning moose hides is passed from generation to generation.
