Summer Students

The Municipal District of Opportunity # 17 will be accepting applications from the following communities; Wabasca, Sandy Lake, Calling Lake, Chipewyan and Red Earth Creek for our Summer Student Program for students aged 15 years old and up which commences July 2, 2025 to August 29, 2025.  Students will have an opportunity to work and gain valuable learning experiences with respect to some of the important factors needed when entering the “employment” field.

Working in the Public Works Department students must be:

• Punctual & Reliable
• Self-motivated and eager to work in a “team” environment
• Ability to get the job done
• Abide by the Safety Rules and Regulations at all times
• Be willing to learn and be responsible
• Respect for equipment and property
• Ability to follow direction and instructions
• Social Insurance Card (SIN) is also a requirement
• Must have C.S.A. approved steel toe boots

Students must provide proof that they have completed the 2024/2025 school year and are returning to school in September to be considered for Summer Employment.
