MD of Opportunity

The Municipal District of Opportunity Utilities Department is now accepting applications for a full-time permanent Equipment Operator for Red Earth Creek Landfill.

Applicant must possess the following qualifications:

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and experience in the operations of a landfill site;
  • Care-taking and maintenance of a landfill site and landfill cells;
  • Become familiar with municipal bylaws and provincial regulations with respect to hazardous materials;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, authorities and the general public;
  • A Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
  • Ability to operate equipment (loader, cat, skid steer, track hoe);
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in completing assigned duties;
  • Ability to work as a team player and with little or no supervision;

Duties include:

  • Maintain equipment/daily checks, etc.
  • Sort materials/garbage/debris as per municipal bylaws;
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by your supervisor
