RECREATION ATTENDANT – CASUAL – Red Earth Creek

The Municipal District of Opportunity is currently seeking a casual Recreation Attendant in Red Earth Creek.  The individual chosen for this position must be self-motivated and an enthusiastic Sports & Fitness orientated, people person to perform the following duties:

• Supervise and provide guidance to patrons.
• Able to create, run, and promote recreation programs as directed.
• Daily custodial duties.
• Promote “sports & fitness” in the community.
• Interact with staff and patrons.
• Distribution, collection and maintenance of equipment.
• Willing to initiate sporting & amp fitness programs/events.
• Set up and tear down for all recreation events.
• Submit all required paperwork/documentation at the end of each shift.
• Must be willing to work flexible hour’s evenings & some weekends.

The ideal candidates must possess the following qualifications & experience in the following:

• Standard First Aid Certification is an asset.
• Must be able to work without direct supervision.
• Must be physically active and able to lift a minimum of 30lbs and a lot of youth interaction.
• Knowledge of various sports and sports equipment would be an asset.
• National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP-Certification would be an asset).
• A Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one.  A satisfactory Criminal Record Check upon hire.
