Eagle Point Golf Course Superintendent

The MD of Opportunity is seeking to fill the permanent full-time position of Golf Course Superintendent. This position is an integral part of the Turf Management Team. Eagle Point is a Puddicomb Design 18-hole championship golf course located in Wabasca within the MD of Opportunity. The course opened the front 9 in 2013 and the back nine opening the spring of 2022. Reporting directly to the Manager of Eagle Point Golf Course and Marion Wolitski Arena the incumbent will supervise the course and maintenance staff.

Responsibilities:

1. Train and Supervise staff in the safe operation of all equipment.
2. Monitor and repair irrigation system.
3. Make sure all equipment is properly serviced and maintained daily.
4. Able to perform all duties related to the operation of the golf course including setup the golf course, course service, operate equipment, spray fertilizers and chemicals.
5. Communicate effectively with the Manager and other MD staff.
6. Report and respond to internal and external customer inquiries.
7. Oversee small construction projects.
8. Check all equipment daily.
9. Operation of chainsaw with proper safety tickets.
10. Abide by all safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Turf Management or Horticulture.
• Pesticide applicators certificate or the ability to obtain one.
• 4 years of experience in a golf course environment.
• Experience with Rain Bird Stratus II.
• The position requires an individual who is a team player, must have a positive attitude with exceptional public relations.
• A thorough knowledge of the game of golf.
• Strong interpersonal Skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
• Valid Driver’s License (Class 5 or better).
• Chainsaw certificate.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check upon hire. 

Compensation:

• As per schedule “D” – Salary grid ($ 38.59-$54.13/hr.) following probationary period-matching RRSP, Local Authorities Pension Plan, Extended Health and Dental benefits.
