COOK – PERMANENT FULL TIME – Red Earth Creek

The Municipal District of Opportunity is seeking to fill a full-time Cook position at the MD Daycare in Red Earth Creek, AB.  The ideal candidate should be an outgoing and energetic person with demonstrated skills in their area of work, who are self-starters and team oriented.  The successful individual will help create and deliver a high-quality childcare service that meets MD policy as well as provincial Childcare Licensing.

Primary responsibilities are: 

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly menu
• Prepare and serve a nutritious lunch daily
• Ensure each child receives proper food portions for lunch
• Prepare morning and afternoon snacks daily as per Canada Health Food Guide
• Maintain food inventory and place food orders as scheduled
• Clear, clean, and sanitize work areas
• Adhere to provincial health and safety standards for food handling and storage
• Ensure the Childcare facility complies with Childcare licensing requirements
• This position requires lifting and other manual tasks

Qualifications required:

• Food Handling certificate(s)
• Minimum of one year cooking experience
• First Aid Certificate (other safety tickets are considered assets)
• Knowledge in the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
