Alysha's dad catches two northern pikeA pleasant afternoon spent on North Wabasca Lake allowed for some nice jackfish.

Fishing is a popular activity on Calling Lake, Rock Island Lake, North Wabasca Lake, Chipewyan Lake, Sandy Lake, Orloff Lake, Peerless Lake, and Graham Lake along with the many rivers and smaller bodies of water in the region.

Species include

walleye (pickerel)
northern pike (jack fish)
lake trout (in Peerless Lake)
perch
whitefish
ling cod

Red Earth Creek: KANS General Store
Wabasca: E&M

 

Each year during the second weekend in June, the local RCMP host a Wabasca Fishing Derby which always draws a big crowd for great prizes and giveaways.
